Kathleen Munroe, MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS, ASDCS
Kathleen (Kathy) is a pediatric speech-language pathologist with over 35 years of experience working with neurodiverse children from birth to 21 years of age with varied communication skills in a variety of clinical settings including acute care and rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, public schools, and home therapy. She has been providing online telespeech services to children across California since 2018. Kathy served as a speech-language pathologist at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana for more than 20 years followed by Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego for 10 years. She has a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University and her Bachelors Degree is in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences from Purdue University.
Kathy is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS) with training and certification in three Hanen Programs (It Takes Two to Talk, More Than Words, and Target Word for Late Talkers) and in the administration of the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - 2nd Edition). She is currently undergoing advanced training in the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) framework and gestalt language processing. Areas of specialized interest and training include Auditory Processing, Autism, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Cognitive-Communication, Executive Functioning, Fluency, Literacy, Receptive-Expressive Language, and Speech Sound Disorders.
Kathy is a licensed speech-language pathologist in the states of California, Missouri and Texas and holds a Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She has earned multiple ASHA Awards for Continuing Education (ACE) throughout her career.

Services
Munroe TeleSpeech Services is a virtual, online speech therapy practice that specializes in the assessment and intervention of speech, language, cognitive and communication conditions and concerns.
Consultations
We offer complimentary phone consultations designed to determine if your child would benefit from a comprehensive evaluation to develop an appropriate individualized treatment plan.
Evaluations
We provide evidenced-based evaluations using a variety of assessment tools to determine strengths and weaknesses in your child’s overall communication. The comprehensive assessment will include a parent interview, review of past records including health, developmental milestones and previous assessments where applicable, formal standardized measures, informal observations, and behavioral observations. Upon completion of the evaluation, you will receive a complete diagnostic report summarizing the results and outlines the recommendations.
Intervention
Based on the results of the evaluation, the Speech Language Pathologist will work with you to develop a customized therapy program to address areas of concern. Therapy is always based on current research and driven by the needs and interests of each child. Therapy sessions are interactive and engaging for the child as their individualized
goals are being addressed.
After each session, parents are provided with a home activity or suggestion to ensure carry-over into the home environment.
Insurance
Insurance Options
At this time, Munroe TeleSpeech Services does not take insurance. Payment for private paying clients is due at the time of services rendered.

While Munroe TeleSpeech Services is an out-of-network provider, your insurance carrier may cover some or all of the costs of services. Benefits vary across policies so it is important to become familiar with your individual health insurance plan. We can provide the appropriate documentation that you may submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. While Munroe TeleSpeech Services does not require a medical doctor’s referral to start services, it may be necessary to obtain one if you wish to be reimbursed by your insurance company. It is the responsibility of the parent to know and understand the requirements set by their insurance company.
